HUNDREDS TURN OUT FOR TOM McROY

Alfreton Town Football Club bade farewell to their most popular son ever on Tuesday at the funeral of former club co-founder and stalwart Tom McRoy who recently passed away aged 94

Hundreds of friends, supporters, club officials, past and present players and local dignitaries turned out to pay their last respects to Tom, known as ‘Mr Alfreton Town’ at the Wesley Methodist Church in Alfreton before cremation at Mansfield

A wake was held at his beloved Alfreton Town Football Club where he had held numerous positions over the years since helping form the club in 1959.
