Alfreton Town showed their battling qualities again as they twice came from behind to gain a well-earned point from a 3-3 draw at Hereford United in Blue Square Bet Premier Division action on Saturday.
Ryan Bowman put the hosts ahead after 20 minutes but Paul Clayton's 12th goal of the season got the Reds level on 37 minutes as he found the top corner of the net.
Hereford restored and then extended their lead with goals from Stefan Stam on 45 minutes and Bowman's second of the game three minutes into the second half.
Alfreton responded well and after Nathan Arnold had reduced the arrears on 57 minutes, Connor Franklin's first goal of the season, a header from inside the six yard box on 63 minutes, gained a share of the spoils for the visitors.
The point took the Reds up three places to 13th in the table.
The Reds are next in action on Tuesday night when they begin their 2012/13 season Derbyshire Senior Cup campaign with a third round home tie against Evo-Stik League Premier Division side Buxton at the Impact Arena.
Kick-off at the Impact Arena is 7.45pm and admission for this fixture has been reduced to just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (O65, U16s and students upon production of a student card).
The winners of the tie will travel to face Mickleover Royals in the quarter finals on Tuesday, January 22.
