Alfreton Town tasted defeat in their last away game of the season as they fell to a 3-2 reverse at relegaton-fighting Hereford United on Easter Monday.

The Reds went in front after just seven minutes when Job Ayo Akinde continued his fine scoring record of late, netting for the fifth consecutive league game.

The hosts drew level on 29 minutes when Kingsley James rounded debutant Reds keeper Joe Wildsmith to net and the Bulls took the lead on 61 minutes when Dominic Collins headed home a Frankie Artus corner and the lead wasextended to 3-1 ten minutes later when Kingsley James set up Jarrod Bowen who fired home a low shot.

Alfreton reduced the arrears when Shaun Harrad netted on 87 minutes but the hosts held on for a result which gave them hope of retaining their league status on the final day of the campaign.
