REDS REACH DERBYSHIRE SENIOR CUP FINAL
Alfreton Town came from behind to defeat Gresley FC 2-1 at the Moat Ground and reach the final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup, the win extending Nicky Law's side's unbeaten run to eleven games in all competitions.
In a poor game and on a poor playing surface, the hosts took the lead on 19 minutes through a low Martin Smyth shot but despite the Reds not being anywhere near their best, they equalised on 41 minutes when Jamie Jackson headed in a Dan Bradley corner.
The winner came in somewhat fortuitous fashion when a woeful back pass saw Harrison's header too strong for home keeper Peet who fumbled and Joe Leesley (pictured) fired the Reds into the final with an angled shot on71 minutes.
In their first final since the 2007/08 season, Alfreton will now face Belper Town at a venue and on a date to be confirmed by the Derbyshire County FA.
