Goalkeeper Tom Nicholson is signing number four

Tuesday May 29, 2018

The Club are pleased to confirm the signing of shot-stopper Tom Nicholson from Halifax Town.

Tom signs with us on a one year deal.

Nicholson was the second goalkeeper brought into Halifax Town last summer. He previously played for North Ferriby United and largely played a back-up role with the Villagers, however he was called upon several times during his time there, earning good reviews when he was between the sticks.

Nicholson was also a part of the Ferriby side who won the FA Trophy in 2015.

Tom’s former clubs include Hull City, Scarborough and Garforth Town.

Nicholson made four starting appearances for the Shaymen last season with the majority of his playing time coming from off the bench. Tom was then released by Halifax at the end of the season.

Manager Billy Heath:

“Tom is another great addition to our side and we are delighted to have him at the club. He has often been a number two at previous clubs and was largely in that role for Halifax last season but he brings experience to us.”

“He’s been at a great level for a while now and he joins us wanting to compete, he’s an excellent lad to have in the changing rooms and around the club. He will not only provide competition for Ross but also help him and provide that experience that will help us in all departments.”
