Gainsborough Trinity v Alfreton Town

Gainsborough Trinity v Alfreton Town

Thursday Jan 25, 2018

This Saturday sees the Reds looking to continue their 100% record under Chris Moyses when we visit Gainsborough Trinity in the Vanarama National League North, kick-off 3pm.

After Tuesday's excellent triumph at Blyth Spartans, Alfreton have climbed to 13th place in the table.

The Reds will be looking for a third league win on the bounce and currently are unbeaten in the last four league games. With confidence sky high and the Reds playing with passion, desire and grit, we head to Gainsborough looking to build on our current unbeaten run.

The Reds will also be looking for three away league wins in a row after the 1-0 win at Blyth on Tuesday and the 3-0 win over North Ferriby back in early January.

Gainsborough have slipped to 21st after losing 3-0 to relegation rivals Leamington, also on Tuesday night. Danny Udoh bagged a brace for Leamington with their other goal an own goal by Liam King. They have gained 25 points from 25 games, eight fewer than ourselves.

Trinity haven't won in their last five league games (L4, D1), our hosts also haven't scored in their last three games and have lost one and drawn one in their last two league games at home.

The Gainsborough team was against Leamington: Ravas, Evans, Jacklin, Liam King, Stainfield, Craig King, Russell, Richards, Jarman, Worsfold, Davie.

Subs: Clarke, Bateson, Storey, Wells, Simmons

We will be looking to complete the double having defeated them 4-1 at the Impact Arena back in September, all our goals coming in the first half from Tom Platt, Ricky German, Craig Westcarr and Brendan Daniels.

Reds boss Chris Moyses:

"Every member of the squad has been brilliant, we have come here looking to change things around and the lads know the way we all want to play, the way we want to work. We work hard as a team and credit to the lads for working so hard and when you do, you get the rewards."

"We move onto the next game now, it's been a great start for us and we all want to keep it going. I was delighted for the fans who travelled such a long way and I was pleased we could give them a result, our focus is the next game and the lads want to keep it going."

"It will be a tough game at Gainsborough, we will give them respect of course. They are in a battle down the bottom and they will be desperate to gain the points."

"However we know we have a job to do, we will prepare well and aim to build on our performances from Tuesday and Saturday and aim to keep it going."

Admission to the game is: Adults £12, Concessions £8 (Over 65 and Students), Under 16 £4

Matchday Programme: £2.50

A reminder that the Supporter's Association transport leaves the Impact Arena at 10.15 am.
