WELCOME TO JASON PALING
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has strengthened his squad further ahead of the 2015/16 Vanarama National League North opener at Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.
The Reds boss has signed former Sheffield United defender Jason Paling on a one-year contract after the youngster impressed in pre-season training and games.
The nineteen-year-old Barnsley-born player joined the Blades aged twelve and progressed to play for both United's Under-18s and Under-21 sides as a result of which he was rewarded with a first-year professional contract in the summer of 2014.
During the 2014/15 campaign Jason went out on loan to Stocksbridge Park Steels for a month but was released at the end of the campaign.
A tenacious and committed performer, Jason can play either right-back or on the right side of midfield.
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law is delighted to have captured Jason: "He is a young lad who was with Sheffield United and did quite well on loan at Stocksbridge Park Steels last season" said Law.
"He has come in and done well pre-season, played right-back and also played up in midfield as well. He is a steady young lad who we are looking to develop through to progressing into a first team regular" ended Law.
