Blue Square Bet Premier Division
Fleetwood Town v Alfreton Town
by Tom Lawler
Alfreton Town face the most difficult away trip of the campaign so far when they visit Blue Square Bet Premier Division leaders Fleetwood Town this weekend, as the Reds look to climb out of the relegation zone.
Reds manager Nicky Law's side will be hoping for a repeat performance from last Saturday when they beat fellow league strugglers Darlington 3-1.
Law will still be without injured goalkeeper Joe Day whilst Anton Brown misses out after serving a one match suspension picked up after his sending off against Darlington.
The team will be lifted by the news that Leigh Franks is back in training although it remains to be seen if he will be included in the squad.
At present the Reds sit in 21ts position and are currently in the drop zone with goal difference separating them from climbing out of the bottom four.
A point this weekend could potentially see Alfreton climb outside the relegation zone providing other results go their way. Fleetwood have been in sublime form recently as they sit top of the Conference Premier to points clear of second place Wrexham, although they have played a game more than the Welsh side.
The Cods are currently the in form club having picked up 16 points from a possible 18 and are unbeaten in their last 14 league games. The last time these two teams met was earlier on in the season at the Impact Arena when the Cod Army beat ten man Alfreton. Fleetwood striker Jamie Vardy's second-half hat-trick inspired the Trawlermen to all three points as they eventually beat Alfreton 4-1
