FIFTH SIGNING AS LEVI MACKIN JOINS REDS

ALFRETON Town have made their fifth signing of summer with former Wrexham and York City central midfield player Levi Mackin penning a one-year contract with the Reds.
Six-footer Mackin, 25, has been described as energetic and tough tackling, and a reliable holding player. Despite his age, he has bags of experience having played all his career in either League Two or the Conference National divisions.
He progressed through Wrexham's youth system, joining them in July 2003 and gaining his first professional contract in 2005.
Loan spells were spent at Droylsden where he had three months at the end of the 2007/08 campaign, and also at York City, serving four months at the end of the 2008/09 campaign. He then gained two consecutive one-year deals with the Minstermen and started the Conference National play-off final at Wembley.
Levi was released by York on June 23, 2011, and promptly snapped up by Alfreton boss Nicky Law.
Born in Chester, he has nevertheless represented Wales at Under-21 level.
