EASTWOOD TOWN 4, ALFRETON TOWN 2
Friday May 13, 2011
Alfreton Town fell to a first defeat in eight games as an in-form Eastwood Town became the first team to score four against the Reds this season and stepped up their play-off hopes by climbing into fifth place with the win.
In a cracking game, the hosts went ahead on 12 minutes through Matt Rhead but Liam Hearn's 27th goal of the season levelled for the Reds two minutes later.
Josh Law had a 25th minute penalty saved by John Danby after Adie Hawes had fouled Liam Hearn before Eastwood regained the lead through Michael Simpson on the half-hour. A David Haggerty goal three minutes into the second half put the hosts further in front before former Red Andy Todd made it 4-1 on 82 minutes. Ant Wilson reduced the arrears two minutes later.
Attendance 1,112. Reds man of the match Liam Hearn. Report and pics to follow.
The Reds are away for the third game in a row on Saturday when they travel to face Gloucester City at their groundshared home at Cheltenham Town.
