We have been forwarded the following information from Ebbsfleet United for any Alfreton Town fans travelling to the game on Saturday.
Visit Ebbsfleet United and the Ebbsfleet Valley
First things first, Stonebridge Road, the home of The Fleet, is situated on the outskirts
If you are coming by car, the ground is signposted from the A2 and is
easy to find. Follow signs for A2 Dover from the M25. There is plenty of parking -
just follow signs to Ebbsfleet International Station and then to "The Fleet".
see roadside signs to the Car Park as you near the ground. It is just a short walk from
there to the ground.
On match days there is a special rate of just £2 to park your car.
By train you have the option of the ‘ordinary' mainline or the High Speed train.
Closest station for the ordinary train service is Northfleet, which is a short walk or
you can use Greenhithe, which is also the station for Bluewater, and take a FastTrack
B bus to outside the Ground.
Trains from Charing Cross take less than an hour. The
High Speed train will bring you to Ebbsfleet International station from St. Pancras in
18 minutes from where you can walk to the ground. For other options, check out
Transport for London.
If you would like to make a weekend of it, there are lots of things to do in the area.
The famous Bluewater Shopping Centre is just a few miles away. As well as hundreds
of shops, there are restaurants from McDonald's to fine dining and a cinema.
For the children there are plenty of parks and playgrounds. The events centre will be opening
There are 1000s of free car parking spaces and the bus goes there too.
Other attractions in the area include the historic Chatham Dockyard where there are
often special events. If you'd like to travel a bit further afield, we can offer sandy or
pebble beaches. Whitstable is home to Kentish oysters and is famous for the fish
market and restaurants on the harbour.
Head towards the coast on the A2/M2. Sandy
beaches can be found at Margate or Broadstairs.
The Cathedral City of Canterbury is also an excellent trip. Again, there are shops and
restaurants of all kinds, but you can also visit the cathedral and try the Canterbury
Tales Experience - this gives you all the sights and smells of medieval Canterbury!
Faversham is the home of Shepherd Neame brewers. You can book yourself on a
brewery tour. There are often events in the town relating to its beer making past,
including the Hop Festival and the torchlit carnival. The National Fruit Collection has
its home at Brogdale in Faversham and tours can be taken.
Obviously, London and all its attractions, is close by and even Paris is only 2 hours
and 5 minutes by Eurostar.
Kent is a fascinating county - there are WW2 fighter
stations to visit, the Blossom Tour, the beautiful countryside, the seaside, the history,
world class shopping...
For a place to stay there are plenty of hotels in the area - Premier Inn, Holiday Inn
Express, Travelodge and others - as well as B&Bs. The Best Western Manor offers a
