DARTFORD v ALFRETON TOWN
Friday Aug 31, 2012
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST, 3PM
Saturday, September 1st
Blue Square Bet Premier Division
Dartford v Alfreton Town
at Princes Park
Alfreton Town face a long away trip for the second successive Saturday when they travel to Kent to face league newcomers Dartford for the first time ever.
With the exception Theo Streete and Anthony Wilson who are both recovering from a virus, Reds boss Nicky Law has a full-strength squad with no injuries to contend with and just one suspension as striker Tom Denton sits the game out as he serves the last of a three-game ban.
And manager Law will be handing a start to goalkeeper Jon Stewart who has rejoined the club on loan until January 1 on transfer deadline day. Stewart spent the back end of the 2011/12 campaign at the Impact Arena and had a major impact on the Reds staying in the division.
Away from home so far, the Reds have lost 1-0 at Stockport County on the opening day of the season, and won 3-1 at Barrow last weekend which was a first victory of the season for points.
After the first three games, the Darts have settled to life in the top flight having been promoted as Blue Square Bet South play-off winners last season.
Under manager Tony Burman they lost 3-2 at home to Tamworth in the season's opener and then went down 1-0 at Woking and 2-0 at Macclesfield Town. However, since then they have found form and beat Kidderminster Harriers 1-0 at home before recording an impressive 2-1 win at Cambridge United on Bank Holiday Monday.
Another tough game awaits . . .
Kick-off at Princes Park is 3pm.
ATFC Supporters' Association transport departs at 8.45am for this game.
