ALFRETON Town recorded a confidence-boosting 1-1 draw in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division at Darlington on Tuesday evening.

Just three days after going down 6-1 at home to Forest Green Rovers, 97 Reds fans in a gate of 1,965 saw Nicky Law's reshaped side put in a solid display at the Northern Echo Arena.

Law left skipper Greg Young out of his squad altogether and put Jake Moult and Jamie Mullan on the bench with Leigh Franks and Levi Mackin both coming in for their full debuts while Chris Senior - who headed the winner for Darlington in last season's FA Trophy final against Mansfield Town at Wembley - was restored up front.

James Walshaw put the Quakers ahead on 47 minutes but a Nathan Jarman (pictured netting the equaliser by Dave Pursglove) penalty success on 82 minutes gained a deserved point for Alfreton.

This Saturday, the Reds are home to high-flying Wrexham who will arrive at the Impact Arena in second place. They are unbeaten in their opening four games and beat Tamworth 3-0 in North Wales on Tuesday evening.
Kick-off at the Impact Arena is 3pm.
