Craig King is signing number three!

Saturday May 26, 2018

ATFC are delighted to confirm the signing of winger Craig King from Gainsborough Trinity.

Craig has signed a one year deal at the Impact Arena.

King started his career at Leicester City where he came through the youth academy; he signed a two year professional contract with the Foxes in 2008. King made the Leicester side for the first time as an unused substitute in a 3-0 Football League Trophy win over Hartlepool.

In 2009, Craig would join Hereford United on loan and remained at United for the rest of that season. Spells at Northampton Town and AFC Telford United followed before joining Bradford Park Avenue in 2015.

King would then join Salford City in May 2016 for the 2016/17 season before joining Gainsborough Trinity in May 2017. King scored four goals last season for the Holy Blues.

Billy Heath on the signing of King:

“Craig is another outstanding player that we are pleased to get with us at the Impact Arena. He brings flexibility and can play across the midfield areas; he can go either side of the midfield, wide left and wide right.”

“He will bring creativity to our play; he has excellent delivery at set pieces and scores good goals. It is a good signing and Kingy always works hard all over the pitch. He has experience at this level and he was a player we earmarked when we first came in, we are delighted he is with us.”

Welcome Craig!
