FINANCIAL CRISIS NEEDS TO BE AVERTED

Alfreton Town Football Club have issued an urgent appeal to their fans to help them out and support them in a time of financial crisis.
The Reds have not played a home game since New Year’s Day, over seven weeks ago, which has led to a severe lack of income.
Director John Glasby has appealed for fans who don't have season tickets or ten match tickets to purchase Early Bird and Group Saver tickets in advance for the games which they intend to attend in the next few weeks - and there are nine of them to choose from.
"This would mean a lot to the club as we would at least have some income to help pay the weekly wages which still have to be paid irrespective of the weather.
"Now is the time to really step up to the mark and help your club when it needs it."
Early Bird Match Tickets and Group Saver Match Tickets can be ordered by contacting the club’s ticket office on 01773 830277 between 9am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday, or by calling in at the ground between the same times.
After having their last three home games postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, the club are desperately hoping that it is a case of fourth time lucky and that this Saturday’s crucial clash with play-off chasing rivals Gateshead goes ahead.
A win over Gateshead on Saturday would keep the Tynesiders at bay and push Nicky Law’s side into second place in the table.
And manager Law should have the boost of having central defender Michael Wylde fit again although Chris Westwood will need another week to get over a thigh strain.
Gateshead manager Gary Mills, a former Reds boss, has already said that his side need to “Come to Alfreton and get a result to stay in touch."
Reduced admission
Admission prices for the Gateshead game have been reduced for younger fans with under-16s able to gain entry for just £1 each – so long as they are accompanied by an adult – whilst admission for 16-21 year-olds is just £5 each.
