Tuesday Nov 11, 2014
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has strengthed his squad by bringing in experienced striker Carl Lamb on loan from Chesterfield following a successful trial match with the Reds last week in which he scored twice in a behind closed doors training game against Mansfield Town.
Lamb, 30, was originally on the books at Liverpool. He then moved into non-League with Welsh sides Bangor City, Cefn Druids and Total Network Solutions before joining Droylsden in the summer of 2008.
He had spells with Witton Albion, Buckley Town and Abersytwyth Town followed before he moved to Australia and during his time down under he won the Regional Premier League goalscoring award for the 2012/13 season with Cobram, and also played for Shepparton United.
After returning to England he was offered a chance with Sky Bet League One side Chesterfield who have given permission for Lamb to play in the FA Trophy and Derbyshire Senior Cup during his stay with Alfreton.
Carl will be at the Impact Arena until January 5th and has been handed squad number 24.
He made his debut as a second half substitute in Tuesday night's goalless Vanarama Conference draw with Bristol Rovers.
