CAPTAIN'S ARMBAND TO BE AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY
Saturday Nov 14, 2015
Alfreton Town Football Club will be auctioning off a special Captain's armband after today's Vanarama National League North game at Harrogate Town.
The armband will only be worn once before being auctioned off with all proceeds going directly to the local branch of the Royal British Legion towards this year's Poppy Appeal.
Full details on how the auction will be staged will be announce once confirmed.
The National League has combined forces with The Royal British Legion to bring even more awareness of the outstanding work they undertake through the funds raised by the annual Poppy Appeal.
Each and every one of the 68 member clubs have been working with their own local branch of The Royal British Legion over the past weeks to arrange suitable collections at our grounds and in our communities.
The National League has further agreed with the Royal British Legion that each club captain will today wear a specially produced 'captains armband' which carries the logos of both The National League and the Poppy Appeal.
These armbands are being made available for auction through each respective club and it is hoped to raise a minimum of £100 for each armband.
Thanks to all for the generous support given to the Poppy Appeal through raising funds to continue with the care for those who have not only given great service to our country in the past but to those personnel of our armed forces who will surely seek and require assistance in the future.
