BRAINTREE TOWN v ALFRETON TOWN PREVIEW
Friday Feb 13, 2015
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14th, 3pm
Alfreton Town are back in Vanarama Conference action on Saturday when they travel to Essex to take on Braintree Town.
Reds manager Nicky Law will be without central defender Callum Howe who has a minor hamstring injury picked up during the 4-2 home win over Southport last weekend, and he is also likely to be without striker Joe Ironside who has a minor foot injury which may keep him out for another week.
Aside from Duane Courtney's long-term injury, there are no other injury worries and no suspensions to contend with as Alfreton look to build more momentum after two very good results at home in their last two outings.
Allied to other results going their way on a day when several of their relegation rivals are in action against each other, the Reds could climb out of the bottom four with a victory but they will have to fare better than their last two visits to Braintree which have both ended in defeat.
Alan Devonshire's side are currently sixteenth in the table and have had mixed fortunes at their Cressing Road ground, winning seven, drawing three times and losing six times and Devonshire has re-signed 20-year old Watford forward Bernard Mensah on loan for the remainder of the season.
Braintree won the first game between the sides way back on August 30th when they triumphed 2-0 at the Impact Arena thanks to goals from Kenny Davis (64) and Dan Sparkes (80).
