Friday May 13, 2011

Alfreton Town fell to only their second away defeat of the season in the league as they let slip a 2-0 half-time lead at Boston United on Tuesday night.

The Pilgrims became the first team to record a league 'double' over the Reds this season with the victory.
Alfreton went in front through an Anton Brown header which went in-off the far post on 20 minutes and doubled it on 42 minutes when Liam Hearn sped away from the half-way line to net his 21st of the season.
The hosts hit back in the second half with goals from Marc Newsham on 50 minutes, Danny Sleath on 68 and Shaun Pearson on 83.
Latest signing Nathan Jarman made his debut from the bench late on in the game.
Report and pics to follow.
The Reds are away on Saturday when they visit Droylsden. Supporters' Association transport departs at 10.15am and seats can be booked via Mark Thorpe on 01773 836251
