The Reds pay their first ever visit to Meadow Park for Saturday's FA Trophy Second Round tie against Boreham Wood FC. In fact Alfreton have never played a game in Hertfordshire.

Boreham Wood are currently members of the Vanarama National League, at the moment sitting in a very respectable 10th place, eight points adrift of the play-off places.

On Saturday they had an excellent 1-0 win at Torquay United, courtesy of a 62nd minute strike from Bruno Andrade. Their current league record at Meadow Park is Won 6 Drawn 3 Lost 5. 

Their team managed by Luke Garrard was : Smith, Woodlands, Stephens, Devera, Ilesanmi, Ricketts (Paine), Davis, Andrade (Nunn), Balanta, Jeffrey, J. Williams (Shakes)

This Thursday also sees the first meeting of the New Year, of  the Supporter's Association. The venue is once again the Victoria Hotel beginning at 7-30 pm. All welcome. Come and help join in the planning of events for 2017.
