REDS SO UNLUCKY
Alfreton Town were desperately unlucky not to gain their first Vanarama Conference point of the season away at league leaders Barnet on Saturday.
With manager Nicky Law back in the dugout after serving a six-man stadium ban, the Reds put in their best performance of the season and looked like they were heading home with a point until they were undone by a goal in the second minute of added time at the end of the game.
Alfreton took the lead when Massiah McDonald (pictured celebrating) headed his first goal for the club on 47 minutes.
Lathaniel Rowe-Turner then became the third Reds player to receive a red card in the last four games on the hour after conceding a penalty when he felled former Alfreton striker John Akinde in the area and Charlie MacDonald equalised for the Bees from the resultant spot-kick.
Alfreton's ten men stood firm until the second minute of stoppage time when Barnet substitute Luisma Villa fired home a superb free kick into the top left corner to condemn the battling Reds to an oh so cruel seventh successive defeat.
