Assistant manager McMillan on York City

Assistant manager Andy McMillan gives his thoughts as the Reds face York City tomorrow.

Reds Assistant manager Andy McMillan gives his thoughts after Tuesday night's 4-3 Harrogate defeat and tell us about his return to Bootham Crescent with the Reds.

Andy said:

"Tuesday was a interesting for us, we said to the players at half time that we didn't feel that we were justified for being 4-0 down, we made three individual errors which cost us. Half time we changed the shape and a few personel and came back into the game really strong and I thought the keeper made an unbelievable save which denied us making it 4-4."

"But credit to Harrogate they were decent first half but we were disappointed with the first half performance but we took a lot of positives from the second half."

Andy on his Reds role and team development so far:

"I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far, the lads have responded really well to what were trying to implement, the lads have got fitter and we have organised them so they know which way we want to play and that we have a structure and they have responded really really well."

On returning to York City where Andy is second in the list of all time leading appearances for the Minstermen:

"We have obviously had them watched and we have our plan, we feel we can get something out of the game; certainly the way we have played the last 3/4 weeks. It will be tough and it will be tough for me emotionally but we will stick to our plan and cause problems."

"It definately will be a strange feeling coming out of the tunnel and turning left instead of right but I'm looking forward to it. It wasn't long ago that I was there as Academy manager so I am looking forward to the game and it will be a good day for me personally heading back."

"But I am here to do a job, we're will go there to get the three points and put the game to them. They are hunting in the play offs and we need to keep ourselves away from relegation and at the moment we are doing that. We aren't in the ideal position but we have played far better than what our league position shows. We feel we can be effective tomorrow and we will look to get the points."
