Alfreton Town v Salford City

Alfreton Town v Salford City

Thursday Feb 15, 2018

This Saturday Alfreton Town welcome the current Vanarama National League North league leaders, Salford City to the Impact Arena for a 3pm kick-off.

The Reds came from behind last weekend against Tamworth to win 2-1 after goals from Brendon Daniels and Craig Westcarr from the spot. It was Alfreton's third win in the last four in the league and leaves the Reds in 13th in the league table heading into tomorrow's fixture.

Alfreton's win last weekend also made it just the one defeat in the last six league games and extended our unbeaten run at home to three games with the last defeat coming in early January against Stockport County.

With confidence high and the league leaders in town, the Reds will no doubt play with freedom and determination once again as we look to continue the good run of form.

The Reds put up a good fight in the reverse game at the Peninsula Stadium back in November when the home side claimed all three points with the only goal of the game scored by former Chesterfield player Manny Dieseruvwe in the 93rd minute.

Salford's lead at the top of the table over second placed Harrogate Town was cut to just two points after their 1-0 defeat to York City at Bootham Crescent last Saturday. The all important goal came from Aiden Connolly after 27 minutes before a crowd of 3,366. This was their sixth defeat in the league this season, Salford currently have 61 points from 29 games.

The Ammies arrive having lost back to back in the league after defeat to York last weekend followed a defeat at Brackley two weeks prior. The league leaders have only won once in their last five away games (L3, D1) Salford had won three in a row before the back to back defeats against York and Brackley.

The Salford City team at York was: Crocombe, Nottingham, Piergianni, Hogan, Touray, Mafula, Maynard, Haughton, Arnold, Redshaw, Walker.

Subs: Livesey, Phenix, Dudley, Shelton, Askew.

Please note segregation will be in operation for this game.

Don't forget the Supporter's Association Sporting Memorabilia Auction taking place in the Reds Bar after the game.
