TUESDAY, AUGUST 11th, 7.45pm

By James Aspinall, Kev Miles and Bill Draper

Alfreton host Lowestoft at the Impact Arena in Vanarama National League North action on Tuesday night and both teams will be wanting to hit some early season form.

Both teams managed to get points on the board after the first game of the season and will look to build on it.

Alfreton managed to scrap a draw at Bradford Park Avenue after they recovered from a two goal deficit with nine men to draw 2-2.

Michael Potts put Bradford 2-0 up after 32 minutes on the clock. Andi Thanoj managed to halve the deficit with a brilliant free kick just past the hour mark.

Red cards for Sam Berry and Tom Allan looked to leave Bradford in a comfortable position but the Reds were rewarded a penalty deep into injury time at the of the game which Joe Ironside slotted home.

Lowestoft made the perfect start to their season last Saturday, with an impressive 3-0 victory over AFC Telford United in Suffolk.

Three goals in eight minutes wrapped up the points for Lowestoft, as Jake Reed scored twice on the opening day and Danny Crow also found the net.

Alfreton will be looking to bag their first win of the season, whereas Lowestoft will be wanting another perfect performance against the Reds.

Admission to the game by payment at the turnstyle on the night is £14 for adults, £10 for concessions and £2 for under-16s.  There is no segregation in place for this fixture.

There have no official previous meetings against Lowestoft Town, but Alfreton Town did play a friendly there in May 1980, drawing 0-0, as part of the club's end-of-season East Anglian tour [although the Reds still had the Derbyshire Senior Cup Final defeat to come against Belper Town].
The Lowestoft friendly connection was made through manager Evan Sutherland, who had previously been in charge at Lowestoft, and the two-match tour had already seen ATFC win 1-0 at Gorleston through a Paul Leverton goal.
