ALFRETON TOWN v LINCOLN CITY PREVIEW
Monday Oct 10, 2011
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11th, 2011. Kick-off 7.45pm
ALFRETON Town entertain Lincoln City in Blue Square Bet Premier Division action at the Impact Arena on Tuesday, October 11th.
The Imps arrive in Derbyshire without a management team after the club terminated the contracts of manager Steve Tilson and assistant manager Paul Brush on Monday.
The team will be under the leadership of former Alfreton central defender Grant Brown on Tuesday night. Full story from the official Lincoln City website here
Alfreton boss Nicky Law will once again have to make enforced changes due to injuries.
Son Josh has a badly bruised shin and ankle following Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Kettering Town. He is likely to be out for around ten days. Matt Wilson, who had to be helped off the pitch in the Kettering game, has damaged ankle ligaments which will rule him out for around a fortnight. On-loan striker James Ellison sits out the second of a three-match suspension.
The Reds will be keen to build on a good performance against Kettering, particularly in the first half. However, they go into the game looking for a first home win in three outings.
Lincoln arrive in 19th place in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division table with 12 points from 14 games so far. They are three places but just two points better off than Alfreton who are 22nd with ten points from 14.
On the road, the Imps have won one, drawn one and lost five, scoring five times but conceding 13.
The draw was at Southport in the first game of the season where it finished 2-2. The victory was at AFC Telford United where they triumphed 2-1. That was the last victory on the road for City who have lost all their last five on the road.
Their last game saw the Imps suffer a 4-0 defeat at Tamworth last Saturday.
The City side at Tamworth was: 1 Joe Anyon, 13 Tony Sinclair, 6 Danny Hone, 4 Adam Watts, 3 John Nutter, 10 Ali Fuseini, 27 Jean-Francois Christophe, 17 Nicky Nicolau, 14 Sam Smith, Gavin McCallum.
18 Jean Arnaud (for Nicolau, 63)
9 Kyle Perry (for McCallum, 71)
7 Jamie Taylor
19 Bradley Barraclough
24 James Wilson
The top goalscorer for Lincoln City this season is Kyle Perry with 4, Sam Smith has 3 and Alan Power 2. Gavin McCallum, Daniel Hone and Ali Fuseini have all scored one.
