Alfreton Town v Kidderminster Harriers

Alfreton Town v Kidderminster Harriers

Friday Mar 16, 2018

This Saturday Alfreton Town entertain Kidderminster Harriers in a Vanarama National League North encounter kick-off 3pm, looking to move further away from the relegation places.

The Reds are back at the Impact after nearly three weeks away with our last fixture at home being the Derbyshire Senior Cup semi final against Ilkeston Town.

Alfreton head into tomorrow's game off the back of a 3-3 thriller away at Bradford Park Avenue last weekend. The Reds soaked up huge amounts of pressure throughout the game but clincal finishing saw us come from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 at the break. Bradford levelled early on in the second half before we regained the lead through Brendon Daniels, only to be pegged back again two minutes from time.

We have only lost once in our last five outings at home in all competitions and once in the last four in the league at home, the defeat being to Salford City (2-3) in mid February.

We will be looking to get back to winning ways however after back to back draws in the league and kick on away from the drop zone.

There's no doubt of the task and a tough game is expected with the visit of play off sitting Kidderminster. Harriers currently lie in 5th place in the table having gained 52 points from 32 games played.

Kiddy head into the fixture off the back of a 2-1 home win over York on Tuesday, before that however, Harriers had lost three league games in a row.  Both Kiddy goals against York came from former Alfreton favourite Dan Bradley.

Alfreton can perhaps draw some optimism from the fact that Kidderminster have won only four times so far on the road in the league this season, these being at FC United of Manchester, Southport, Stockport County and Curzon Ashton.

Their team against York City was: Halls, Horsfall, Pearson, Vaughan, Weeks, Bradley, Croasdale, McQuilkin, Ironside, Sonupe, Taylor.

Subs: Smith, Austin, Waring, Brown, Flatt.

Back in August we went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Kiddy's Aggborough stadium. We had taken a first half lead through Tom Allan but were pegged back in the second half by goals from former Red, Joe Ironside on the hour and Elton Ngwatala two minutes later.

A reminder to supporters that our Easter Egg colouring competition for children aged 0-15 takes place at the ground tomorrow! Bring your young Reds along and get them involved!
