ALFRETON TOWN v CAMBRIDGE UNITED PREVIEW

ALFRETON TOWN v CAMBRIDGE UNITED PREVIEW

Monday Dec 17, 2012

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 18th, 7.45pm

Alfreton Town return to action on Tuesday night with a Blue Square Bet Premier Division home game against Cambridge United.

Reds manager Nicky Law has a full strength squad to choose from for this fixture with no injuries and no suspensions.

He will be looking for his side to end a run of three successive defeats with a much-needed victory and the team are also seeking a first win at home in three games and a first success in five games in all competitions.

The fixture is one of two home games in the space of four days prior to Christmas with bottom markers Barrow set to visit on Saturday and is one of only two league fixtures on the night.
The Reds go into the game in 18th place just two points above the relegation places but a victory would see them leapfrog visitors Cambridge by moving up into 13th place in the table.

United have played ten games away from home so far in the league, winning two, drawing four and tasting defeat four times as well. The wins have come at Barrow (4-1) and Ebbsfleet United (4-2) in their last away game. Draws have been secured at Forest Green Rovers (1-1), Nuneaton Town (2-2), Stockport County (1-1) and Gateshead (0-0). The defeats have come at Luton Town (2-3), Hereford United (2-4), Woking (1-2) and Newport County (2-6).

In their last outing they went down 1-0 at home to Gateshead in the FA Trophy last Saturday but prior to that, Richard Money's side had recorded three wins and a draw from their previous four league outings.

Segregation is in place for the Cambridge United home game and visiting supporters are requested to enter the stadium via the away turnstiles at the Alma Street end of the Impact Arena only.
