ALFRETON TOWN v BARROW PREVIEW
Tuesday Apr 9, 2013
Alfreton Town face a third successive Conference Premier Division relegation six-pointer on Tuesday night when Barrow are the visitors to the Impact Arena (7.45pm).
The fixture was postponed a month ago just minutes before kick-off due to thick fog.
Reds boss Nicky Law will be without left-back Connor Franklin who serves the last of a three-game suspension and central midfield man Anton Brown who suffered a hamstring injury against Stockport County on Saturday.
Defender Jordan Rose is rated as doubtful with an ankle injury and Leigh Franks will need a late check on a similar, if not so serious, problem.
Law will be looking for his side to bounce back from Saturday's 3-2 home defeat but Barrow will arrive scrapping for their Conference Premier Division lives as well after suffering a 4-0 home defeat on Saturday against title-favourites Mansfield Town.
That result leaves the Bluebirds third from bottom of the table, four points from safety and with just three games to go starting with Tuesday night's crucial clash.
However, prior to last Saturday's defeat, Barrow had been on something of a resurgence having won two and drawn three in a row to pick up nine points from 15 available. They are also unbeaten in their last two away games having impressively drawn 0-0 at Grimsby Town and won 1-0 at Dartford in the preceding game.
One word of caution is that they have also picked up more points on their travels than they have at home this season with six wins and six draws obtained away from home.
The fixture, the second of four in eight days for the Reds, is one of two last chances for Alfreton to record a first league double of the season having won 3-1 in Cumbria way back on Saturday, August 25th.
There will be no segregation in place for the Barrow league fixture on Tuesday but all visiting fans are requested to enter the stadium via the away turnstiles at the Alma Street end of the Impact Arena only.
Admission on the day at the turnstile is £18 for adults and £12 for concessions (U16s, Over-65s and students upon production of a student card).
The deadline for Early Bird Match Tickets has now expired.
Some covered seating, covered standing area, food outlet and toilets are all available at the away end of the ground. The match day programme is priced at £3 each.
