ALFRETON TOWN v BARROW
Friday Dec 21, 2012
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22nd, 3pm
Alfreton Town are home to Barrow at the Impact Arena on Saturday in the last Blue Square Bet Premier League game before Christmas.
Reds boss Nicky Law is without goalkeeper Jon Stewart and central midfield man Theo Streete who both sit the game out with one-match suspensions. Phil Barnes is set to return in goal and, with no injuries, there are plenty of options for the vacant midfield berth.
Law should have striker Ben Tomlinson available again after a minor foot injury ruled him out of the midweek home clash with Cambridge United and his return will be a welcome boost as the Reds go in search of a first victory in six games and a first home win in four games in all competitions.
The visitors arrive in bottom place in the table but their away form has been far better than their home and they have won three and drawn three of their ten games on the road which account for 12 of their 20 points accrued so far from their 21 league games played.
A word of warning to the Reds is that Barrow are unbeaten in their last three games on the road in and are they have only lost once in their last eight games in all competitions.
Alfreton won the first encounter of the season 3-1 at Holker Street back on August 25 and a victory would give the Reds a first league double of the campaign.
