Alfreton Town v AFC Telford United
at The Impact Arena
by Tom Lawler
ALFRETON Town continue their push for survival this weekend as they face relegation rivals AFC Telford United at the Impact Arena.
The Reds will be looking to regain their form which has lifted them closer to safety in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
At present Nick Laws' side are in the relegation zone sitting fourth from bottom with only goal difference separating them from survival.
A win against Andy Sinton's Telford side this weekend would see them climb out of the drop zone providing Darlington don't win in their relegation battle clash with Stockport County who are at the Impact Arena on Tuesday evening.
Victory for the Reds would also put them a single point behind their weekend's opponents who will be aiming to climb away from the bottom four.
Nicky Law has no fresh injury worries heading into Saturday's crucial league fixture with goalkeeper Joe Day the only player on the casualty list. He will also be without Matt Wilson who has joined Guiseley on loan until April 4.
Town will be eager to bounce back from their 4-0 away defeat to top-of-the table Fleetwood Town last weekend whilst keeping up their recent home record.
Alfreton may have only picked up six points from their last six games but at the Impact Arena Law's side have taken 12 points from a possible 18.
The Bucks have struggled on their travels this season with just the one win away from home all season although they have drawn seven times.
Recently the Shropshire-based club have been in good survival form taking eight points from six games.
These two sides will know each other very well with the Bucks gaining promotion along side Alfreton to the Conference Premier last season.
The Reds won the Conference North title by an impressive ten points in front of second-placed Telford who gained promotion via the play-offs.
There has also been some memorable games between these two clubs including a play-off semi-final meeting in 2009 which the Bucks won 5-4 on aggregate.
In the corresponding fixture last year the game finished 0-0 but the Reds will be hoping to seek revenge on this weekend's opponents after losing 1-0 earlier on in the season at the New Bucks Head in late September.
