Alfreton Town v AFC Halifax Town

Alfreton Town v AFC Halifax Town

Monday Mar 6, 2017

Tomorrow ( Tuesday) Alfreton Town entertain AFC Halifax Town in  Vanarama National League North  at the Impact Arena Kick Off 7-45 pm.

The Reds will be very keen to play, following the postponement of Saturday's home game against Stalybridge Celtic due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Reds remain in 17th place in the table, now just two points above the relegation-zone, following Worcester City's draw with Darlington 1886  on Saturday.

AFC Halifax Town will provide tough opposition. They currently lie fifth, in the last play-off place, with games in hand on those above them.

Last Saturday the Shaymen could only pick up a point in a goal-less draw with Boston United. Halifax boss Billy Heath praised the defensive display from the visitors. Matty Kosylo was unable to add to his tally of six goals in his previous seven games although he went close on a couple of occaisions. Scott Garner also came close to scoring against his old club.

Alfreton will be aware of the aerial presence of former Red, Tom Denton, who came off the bench last Saturday. Another former Red likely to be in the visitor's line-up is Cliff Moyo who was also on the bench last Saturday.

Last Saururday's FC Halifax Town team was : Johnson, Roberts, Wilde ( Moyo 80), Garner, Brown, Lynch, King, Clarke ( Sinnott 73), Kosylo, Peniket, Morgan ( Denton 46)

Unused subs : Drench, Hotte

This will be the first meeting of the  two sides this season as we have still to make our visit to the Shay.
