Friday May 13, 2011
Alfreton Town moved five points clear at the top of the table after handing out a 4-0 beating to a Droylsden side who were reduced to ten men shortly after Paul Clayton had headed the Reds in front on 19 minutes.
he Bloods had defender Paul Jones sent off for violent conduct but the visitors held firm to the break. Two goals in 90 seconds by top scorer Liam Hearn marked his return from injury in style as he netted a typical breakaway goal on 53 minutes before despatching a peach of a volley from the edge of the 'D' past a stunned Paul Phillips in the Droylsden goal. Matt Wilson wrapped up the win in the first minute of added time from close range, the victory completing a great week's work of ten points from four games in eight days with no goals conceded for Nicky Law's side.
