Injury-hit Alfreton Town have secured their Conference Premier Division status for a third successive season after a 3-0 home win over Tamworth on Thursday night.

The Reds could only muster 14 players for the game with Connor Franklin joining the growing injured list despite being available after serving a three-match suspension.

The victory took Nicky Law's side onto 57 points and up to 13th. They now cannot be caught by any of the bottom three teams or Lincoln City who have only two games left and are on 50 points.

Dan Bradley put the Reds in front from the penalty spot on 20 minutes and he also had a second penalty saved in the second half. Paul Clayton added the second on 32 minutes before Nathan Arnold wrapped up the win with the third on 62 minutes. The attendance was 568 with Danny Meadows the Reds man of the match.

The Reds play their penultimate game of the season on Saturday when they travel to face fourth-placed Newport County at Rodney Parade.

ATFC Supporters' Association transport departs at 8.45am and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401. The theme of the day for fans travelling to the last away game of the season is dress code is all-red!
