ALFRETON TOWN 3, KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS 1
Tuesday Aug 13, 2013
Alfreton Town recorded their first win of the 2013/14 Skrill Premier season with a 3-1 home success against a very strong Kidderminster Harriers side. Match report here. Match picture album here
It was the first time Alfreton have defeated the Harriers in six games in all competitions.
In front of 722, Dan Bradley continued his trend of scoring against his former club when he steered home Josh Law's superb free kick to the back post on 11 minutes before Kyle Storer hit the home bar with a long range effort.
Alfreton doubled their lead on 51 minutes when Paul Clayton neatly chested down in the area and Tom Shaw drove the ball home from the edge of the penalty area for his first goal for the club.
In an intriguing contest, Nicky Law's side extended their lead further on 70 minutes when Dan Bradley surged forward and blasted home his second of the game from 25 yards out to put the icing on his best display in a Reds shirt for a long while.
Kidderminster poured forward but came up against a resolute home defence and their only reply came from Kyle Storer on 79 minutes when he blasted home from the edge of the penalty area after a neat lay-off from Michael Gash.
Alfreton are at home again on Saturday when newly-promoted Salisbury City are the visitors to the Impact Arena. Kick-off is 3pm.
