REDS RECORD LEAGUE DOUBLE
Alfreton Town recorded a first home win since January 23rd when they came from behind to deservedly beat promotion-chasing Harrogate Town 3-2 at the Impact Arena and record a league double over the North Yorkshire side.
In front of 583, the Reds fell behind on 32 minutes when Jordan Thewlis fired home from ten yards but Alfreton equalised on 45+1 when Todd Jordan headed home a superb curling free kick from man-of-the-match from Joe Leesley.
Four minutes into the second half Sam Jones - back after a gthree-game suspension - stabbed Alfreton ahead as he finished a low Leesley cross and it was 3-1 on 74 when a Leesley shot was parried by Harrogate keeper Peter Crook and substitute Jamie Jackson reacted the quickest to net.
Two minutes later the visitors reduced the arrears when substitute Jack Emmett got to the byline and pulled back for Brendan Daniels to sweep home from six yards.
Alfreton could and should have made the game safe but were ultimately indebted to keeper Matt Duke who produced a stunning diving tip-over to keep out a glancing Danny Ellis header which looked destined for the top corner.
