Alfreton Town extended their unbeaten 2013/14 season home record to seven games as they triumphed over adversity with a 3-2 win against Forest Green Rovers at the Impact Arena on Saturday.
The Reds lost striker Paul Clayton to injury after just three minutes, had central defender Nick Fenton contentiously sent off on 71 minutes and had to come from 2-1 down to claim the victory.
In front of 582, Tom Shaw put the Reds in front on 12 minutes and after goals from Magno Vieira on 20 and Matthew Barnes-Homes on 27 minutes had seen the visitors grab the initiative, Clayton's replacement, Daniel Wishart (pictured) struck his first goals for the club to turn the game around again.
Man-of-the-match Wishart equalised on 43 minutes with a 20-yarder and fired what proved to be the winner on 51 minutes.
The win lifted Alfreton up to eighth place in the table, just two points behind second-placed Grimsby Town.
Alfreton are at home again on Tuesday evening when Chester FC are the visitors to the Impact Arena for a Skrill Premier game which kicks-off at 7.45pm.
