Alfreton chalked up theit third successive home win last night at the Impact Arena with a 1-0 victory over Boston United, a results that saw them leapfrog their opponents in the Vanarama National League North table.

The all importnat goal came in the 41st minute and was a superb headed finish by Liam Hearn after a flowing move and excellent cross from full-back Jordan Richards.

The Reds defended manfully and rode their luck at times particularly during the latter stages when the Pilgrims  piled on the pressure. Once again the Reds had keeper Fabian Spiess to thank with another excellent display making a number of fine saves and blocks.

This was a particularly good result as the Reds had a number of players missing due to injury.

This win now moves Alfreton up to 15th place in the table, ten points away from the relegation zone.

A more detailed match report and team line-ups can be found in the results section of the website.
