ALFRETON TOWN 1, KETTERING TOWN 1
Saturday Oct 8, 2011
ALFRETON Town had to settle for a point despite dominating against a Kettering Town side who played the second half with ten men after Jerel Ifil was red-carded in the first minute of stoppage time for a rash callenge on Josh Law.
The Reds produced a very good first half display of disciplined and controlled passing and deservedled led through Anton Brown's 24th minute close range header after visiting keeper Laurie Walker failed to deal with a Matt Wilson header back across goal.
The visitors stuck doggedly to their task in the second half and were handed an equaliser from the penalty spot when Theo Streete pushed Adam Cunnington, the Kettering man beating debutant Reds keeper Joe Day with a shot high into the top corner.
Match report to follow.
The Reds are home again on Tuesday evening when Lincoln City are the visitors for a 7.45pm kick-off.
