LATE, LATE GOAL DENIES REDS

Alfreton Town and Gloucester City shared the spoils from a 1-1 draw for the second time this season as City again found a late equaliser to deny the Reds victory.

Way back in August the Tigers levelled late to force a 1-1 draw after the Reds had dominated the first half.

In front of 513 at the Impact Arena on Saturday, Alfreton led through Sam Smith's coolly finished eight-yard chip over City keeper Jasbir Singh on 30 minutes and looked set for victory despite having to defend heavy pressure in the closing stages of the second half as the visitors pressed strongly.

However, City gained a deserved equaliser on 88 minutes when Tom Webb smashed home a shot from 18yards into the bottom right corner to finally beat Reds keeper Matt Duke who had been in unbeatable form up to that point and was named as the Reds man of the match.
