ALFRETON TOWN 1, BRACKLEY TOWN 1

ALFRETON TOWN 1, BRACKLEY TOWN 1

Sunday Aug 16, 2015

Alfreton Town are still looking for their first league win of the 2015/16 Vanarama National League North season after being held to a 1-1 draw by Brackley Town at the Impact Arena on Saturday.

On a day when the club staged a terrific Pre-Match Big Event full of entertainment which included lookalikes Britney Spears and Simon Cowell, the game also entertained a crowd of 612.

Nicky Law's side were on top in the first half and took the lead on 38 minutes courtesy of a Ryan Austin own goal.
The visitors came more into the game in the second half and equalised on 69 minutes when Sam Smith netted a header from a free-kick. There were strong feelings from the home camp that the goal should not have stood as the match official completely missed a blatant two-handed push by Smith on Reds central defender Sam Berry in the build up to the goal.
