Alfreton Town 0 Worcester City 0
Sunday Jan 22, 2017
Even though the game was devoid of a goal there was plenty of action and controversy. Worcester didn't test Red's keeper Fabian Spiess until the second half when Niall Heaton cleared a Colby Bishop flick off the line. The ball may have crossed the line in the process.
Alfreton had chances themselves. Paul Clayton failed to convert a one on one opportunity in the opening minute.
The Reds were much more solid at the back and pressed well dominating large parts of the game.
The best chance came in the 58th minute when Clayton was brought down in the box. Craig Westcarr's resulting spot kick was saved by Ethan Ross in the visitor's goal. It was an excellent save from a well struck kick.
Worcester saw Cieron Keane dismissed in added on time at the end of the game for two yellow cards.
The point gained saw the Reds move four points clear of Bradford Park Avenue, who occupy the last relegation place, after they went down 2-0 at home to Boston United. Alfreton also have two games in hand.
