ALFRETON Town got themselves off the mark with a first point in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division after a 0-0 draw at home to Southport on Tuesday evening.
Chances at either end were at a premium throughout although Nicky Law's side had Dan Lowson to thank for two very good saves in the first half.
The attendance was 777 with 54 making the trip from Southport. Greg Young was the Reds man of the match.

The Reds are at home again on Saturday when Forest Green Rovers visit the Impact Arena. Kick-off is 3pm.
The Gloucestershire-based side have drawn both of their opening two games, 1-1 at home to Stockport County last Friday and 1-1 at Luton Town on Tuesday evening.
