ALFRETON TOWN 0, ROTHERHAM UNITED 2

ALFRETON TOWN 0, ROTHERHAM UNITED 2

Tuesday Jul 29, 2014

Alfreton Town put in another improved display despite a 2-0 home defeat against Championship visitors Rotherham United at the Impact Arena on Tuesday night.

There was little between the sides in two very well contested halves, the main difference being the movement from the Millersw' front two of Matt Derbyshire and Alex Revell.

And it was Derbyshire who stabbed United ahead on 56 minutes when Matt Derbyshire reacted quickest in the penalty area to stab the ball past the advancing Jon Stewart, his effort trickling home inside the far post.

The second came in injury time at the end of the second half with Millers substitute Jerry Yates steered home a low shot just inside the bottom left corner to conclude an entertaining game.
