Alfreton Town had their ten-match unbeaten home run ended by a lively visiting Chester side who edged a tight verdict 1-0 thanks to a 33rd minute headed goal from Jamie Reed.

The Reds were already without the suspended Nick Fenton and injured pair Chris Westwood and Paul Clayton and have now also lost striker Daniel Wishart with a hamstring problem after 55 minutes, central defender Michael Wylde with a shoulder injury on 83 minutes and Bradley Wood finished the game with a broken toe.

Alfreton are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Gateshead. ATFC Supporters' Association transport departs 9am and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
