ALDERSHOT TOWN v ALFRETON TOWN PREVIEW
Friday Oct 3, 2014
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4th, 3pm
For the second successive Saturday, Alfreton Town head south, this time to Hampshire to take on Aldershot Town in the Vanarama Conference.
Reds manager Nicky Law will be looking for his side to bounce back from back-to-back defeats which have plunged them back into the relegation places.
Once again, Law will be without Nathan Hicks (shoulder) and the Reds boss will need late fitness checks on both Jake Sheridan (back) and Chris Smith (broken finger).
Out on loan
One player who is unavailable for the next month is striker Benny Igiehon who has joined Northern Premier League First Division South side AFC Goole on loan.
Aldershot go into the game in fifteenth place in the table with 16 points from their opening thirteen league games, seven places higher and six points better off than Alfreton.
On home turf, the Shots have won three, drawn once and lost twice so far.
Alfreton will be looking to improve on an away record which has brought five defeats and just one win from six outings to date.
Last season saw Alfreton triumph 3-2 in Hampshire on October 19th but the Shots took full revenge in the reverse fixture, winning 4-1 at the Impact Arena on April 8th.
