Alfreton Town are now unbeaten in their last three away games after picking up another valuable away point in a goalless draw at a freezing cold New Bucks Head ground against AFC Telford United on Saturday.

Latest loan signing Louie Soares made his debut as a second-half substitute but Ross Killock missed the game due to his calf strain having not cleared up in time as expected.

The Reds man of the match was goalkeeper Phil Barnes (pictured) who picked up his first clean sheet of the season from eleven league appearances so far and the attendance was 1,291 with around 37 fans making the trip from Derbyshire.

Alfreton stay 14th in the table but Telford dropped into the relegation zone after a 15th successive league game without a win.

Alfreton are next scheduled in action on Tuesday night when they will try for a third time to play their Derbyshire Senior Cup third round home tie against Evo-Stik Premier Division side Buxton at the Impact Arena. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
