AFC FYLDE v ALFRETON TOWN MATCH PREVIEW

AFC FYLDE v ALFRETON TOWN MATCH PREVIEW

Friday Feb 26, 2016

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27th, 3pm

Alfreton Town are back in Vanarama National League North action on Saturday when they travel to Lancashire to take on fifth-placed AFC Fylde.

The Reds go into the game on the back of an unbeaten twelve-game run in all competitions whilst Fylde will be looking to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at Lowestoft Town in their last outing for points a week last Tuesday on February 16th.

Indeed, the promotion-chasing Coasters will be looking for more consistency as they have suffered three defeats in their last five outings in the league.

Reds boss Nicky Law knows his side are in for a testing time: "It will be a tough game. Obviously they are a good side, they are doing well. But away from home we have just got to worry about ourselves. At home last week we were a bit sloppy and we can't afford to do that again.

"We have just got to try and keep the run going and finish the season as best we can" ended Law.

The Reds boss will have to wait for a late fitness check on striker Jamie Jackson who picked up a minor ankle injury in last Saturday's 1-1 home draw against Corby Town and Law also has the option of handing a debut to latest signing Joe Doyle.

In the first game of the season between the sides at the Impact Arena back on Tuesday, December 8th, Alfreton saw a 1-0 half-time lead overturned as Fylde snatched all three points with two second-half goals.
