ADMISSION AND SEASON TICKET PRICES ANNOUNCED
Wednesday May 9, 2012
ALFRETON Town have announced their ticket prices for the 2012/2013 Blue Square Bet Premier Division season and the clear message to fans is, get an early bird season ticket to take advantage of massive savings.
Admission for each of the 23 league games next season will be £18 for adults, £12 for concessions (over-65s [not Over-60s as previously unfortunately published in error, it has always been Over-65] and children aged under 16) and £3 for Junior Reds.
Membership for Junior Reds remains at the bargain price of just £5 for the season.
Early bird season tickets will be available up to June 30, 2012, and are priced at £289 for adults, £194 for concessions, £150 for a ten-match ticket, with concessions paying £100 for the ten-match option.
After the June 30 deadline, tickets increase to £310 for adults, £206 for concessions and £160 for a Ten-match ticket, £110 for ten-match concessions. One point which also made balancing the books more difficult last season was that the club had to absorb the VAT increase brought in by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Fans paying £18 individually for each game would pay a total of £414 for 23 league games. If they purchase a season ticket at the discounted price of £289, that works out at just £12.56 per game, of which only £10.48 goes to the club after VAT is taken off. After the early bird deadline, the price per individual game would work out at £13.47 for an adult.
Chairman Wayne Bradley explained: "After much deliberation, the directors have agreed to put plans in hand to improve the standard of our sponsorship and hospitality services in line with increased prices and anticipated volume.
"Equally well, entrance prices have increased to reflect the need to meet increased match day costs. "We have to move in line with other premier division clubs but we are positively encouraging supporters to take advantage of the huge discounts on the early bird tickets which are being offered to assist regular supporters and minimise their entrance costs.
"All prices are designed for supporters to buy early and get in at those lower prices. We trust our supporters will understand the need for the new pricing schedule if the club is to continue playing football at the highest level in non league." After a season in which the Reds punched well above their weight to achieve a final position of 15th, the directors have moved to ensure the club have a better chance of maintaining their Conference Premier Division status again.
Chairman Bradley added: "We cannot be the cheapest admission fees on one of the lowest attendances and have the best team. It just does not follow. To ensure sustainable football at our level, we must greatly increase our turnover from last year.
"Fans are expecting us to compete on a level playing field with the likes of Mansfield Town who have an average attendance of just under 2,700 paying £18 to get in."
And in a season which sees all Blue Square Bet Premier Division clubs come under financial restrictions imposed by the Conference, Bradley goes on to explain how important it is for the club's hopes of progression.
"The quality of player who can be influential in games can be four to five times more expensive than what we pay. I maintain that if we have 1000 home supporters, the away support would be a complete bonus. You can build a base around those 1000 and know where you stand. If you can't, you have to be as prudent as you need to be and then make decisions when you can. It is all about what the supporters do first. A positive reaction will be put back out onto the pitch as the manager would become the beneficiary."
Visiting supporters will obviously not be able to take advantage and will have to pay the standard £18 and £12 entry prices throughout the season.
Season ticket holders will be receiving a renewal letter through the post next week and they will be able to utilise that form to then order their ticket for the new campaign.
