REDS SIGN STRIKER ASHLEY WORSFOLD

REDS SIGN STRIKER ASHLEY WORSFOLD

Friday Aug 24, 2012

Alfreton Town have signed striker Ashley Worsfold from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Sheffield FC.

Ashley featured in some of Alfreton's pre-season games as a trialist and he has earned himself a one-year contract with the Reds and he will take over the vacant squad number 20.

Ashley only joined Sheffield Club in the summer having looked like signing a couple of years ago before eventually moving from Goole AFC to Parkgate instead.

Worsfold has been bagging goals for Parkgate in the Baris Northern Counties East Premier Division ever since - 25 in fact last season. Upon signing for Sheffield FC, the 21-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday man joined his brother Aaron, who played for reserves last season, and father Craig, who made around 200 appearances for Sheffield over five seasons in the early 1990s and still plays for the Over 35's, in maintaining the family connection to Sheffield FC

A big Reds welcome to Ashley.
