Preview: Alfreton Town v Bradford (Park Avenue)

Friday Sep 28, 2018

Alfreton Town return to Vanarama National League North action tomorrow afternoon at the Impact Arena, with the visit of Bradford (Park Avenue), kick off is 3pm.

After the last two games against Sutton Coldfield in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round, Billy Heath's men now focus back on the league and a difficult test against the side sitting fourth in the table.

The Reds got back on track following the two fixtures against Sutton Coldfield, after trailing in the first fixture last Saturday 2-0 after six minutes; goals from Richard Peniket and Declan Bacon salvaged a replay for Alfreton. Back at the Impact Arena, the Reds returned to their best, easing to a 3-0 win with three outstanding goals on the night from Declan Bacon (2) and Jordan Sinnott.

An FA Cup date with derbyshire rivals Mickleover Sports sits on the horizon on the 6th October.

A return to league action tomorrow presents a chance to revive momentum following back to back defeats in our most previous league fixtures against league leaders Chorley (3-1) and a home defeat to Guiseley prior (0-1). The Reds had gone on a four game winning streak before stuttering to those two losses.

Alfreton have lost just twice at home in all competitions so far this season and we will be looking to get back on track in the league tomorrow afternoon, after a positive week in the FA Cup.

Visitors Bradford sit fourth in the league and progressed in their FA Cup tie at Darlington, 0-1, last weekend.

However they too head into tomorrow's league fixture off the back of back to back league defeats in their previous two league outings (Altrincham 2-3, Chester 5-3). The visitors have won just one of their last four away league games.
